JBenchmark Net

JBenchmark Net, the first public mobile network speed test and result database launched

JBenchmark Net analyzes mobile networking speed by measuring the time to connect, download and upload files using the networking connections of cellular phones. All results are aggregated by device, country and network operator and publicly available at www.jbenchmark.com.

Kishonti Informatics, the worldwide leader of mobile performance benchmarking has announced general availability of JBenchmark Net, the first public mobile network testing tool and result database. The new benchmark not only measures the network capabilities of mobile devices, but also lets make comparisons between mobile networks and operators.

Mobile networking boom starts now

Network enabled mobile applications will take off soon as more and more network operators will launch flat rate (unlimited download) internet packages.
Mobile online communities, networked games, user generated content and IP based communication technologies (VOIP, instant messaging) will all benefit from the increased bandwidth and more liberal use of networks.
For the effective use of these services mobile handsets and operators need to be prepared.

JBenchmark Net

JBenchmark Net is our test tool to help evaluating the network bandwidth and response speed available for mobile applications, measuring the bottlenecks of networks and devices.

The testing takes roughly one minute and generates the following statistics:

  • Download speed in Kbits/second
  • Upload speed in Kbits/second
  • Response time in milliseconds (round-trip latency)
  • Connection time in milliseconds
  • Test duration
  • Traffic generated
  • Network operator name
  • Country of test

System requirements

JBenchmark is a small mobile Java ME client application, which is compatible with basicly all Java enabled mobile phones. That means hundreds of millions of handsets globally.

Result database

Kishonti Informatics owns and publishes the world's largest performance database for mobile devices. This successful collection has been extended with JBenchmark Net results already and publicly available at www.jbenchmark.com website.

Availability

JBenchmark Net is available in the following Editions:

  • Community Edition is a free (requires registration) networked-only version, which falls back on JBenchmark servers to calculate results.
  • Corporate Edition is customised for on-device and automatic testing environments for corporate users.
  • Strategic Edition adds the full source code of Corporate Edition and makes it possible to set up proprietary JBenchmark Net servers to collect information on closed corporate intranets or build customised versions of the benchmark.

About Kishonti Informatics:
